Ancient Wisdom began as a small chain of gift shops in Sheffield and Derbyshire. A line of unique aromatherapy products was created in response to customer demand. These products (including Sleep Stones) were so successful that other retailers began to request supplies. It soon became apparent that wholesale to the independent gift trade was appealing. This emphasis on customer lead demand has been and continues to be a feature of our success.

The aromatherapy concept has evolved to include a wide range of giftware items such as candles, crystals, and incense. We now stock nearly 10,000 product lines and import from India, Indonesia, Nepal, and China, supplying the gift trade worldwide.

They operate from Affinity Park, a 100,000 sq ft distribution warehouse in Sheffield, and are constantly expanding Their product ranges with the goal of supplying everything your gift business requires.

What is the significance of the name “Ancient Wisdom”?
Everything happened around 6000 years ago… Folklore, which is increasingly supported by archaeology, tells us that humanity was far from primitive during so-called primitive times. However, civilisations and Wisdom have only sometimes progressed linearly. The pyramids and Stonehenge are significant examples of how an ancient culture could be ahead of its descendants.

The ancients knew more about aromatherapy and the mysterious properties of plants and trees than we do today. The origins of this Ancient Wisdom are hotly debated among academics and theologians. Was it divine, pre-flood, from the Nephilim (a mythical race of God’s sons), or aliens?

The truth is that great wisdom was discovered and lost relatively quickly, most likely around 6000 years ago.

The growing interest in aromatherapy is linked to an interest in all things ancient and spiritual. However, most people believe they have a gentler, deeper side. A side that delights in lighting candles, indulging in and savouring delightful scents, and creating a cosy and welcoming home environment.

This most fundamental human need is one that the Ancient Wisdom concept attempts to address in some way.
